Il Quality Assurance Manager in ricerca clinica è una figura critica vista la grande importanza della qualità in tutte le fasi dello sviluppo di un farmaco. La qualità e la figura del QA sono un presupposto essenziale per assicurare sia la protezione dei soggetti inseriti negli studi, sia l’integrità e di conseguenza l’attendibilità dei dati raccolti.
Il Quality Assurance Manager in ricerca clinica è una figura critica vista la grande importanza della qualità in tutte le fasi dello sviluppo di un farmaco. La qualità e la figura del QA sono un presupposto essenziale per assicurare sia la protezione dei soggetti inseriti negli studi, sia l’integrità e di conseguenza l’attendibilità dei dati raccolti. Ogni passaggio di uno studio clinico, dal calcolo statistico alla redazione del rapporto finale dello studio, dalla produzione del farmaco sperimentale alla verifica dei fornitori, deve essere inserito in un robusto sistema di qualità, che ne assicuri l’aderenza alle normative e l’adeguatezza e la coerenza con le policy aziendali. La presenza di un Quality Assurance è necessaria presso qualunque tipologia di sponsor di studi clinici (profit e no-profit). Inoltre, per quanto riguarda le CRO e le unità cliniche che conducono studi di Fase I, la figura non solo è necessaria, ma deve anche possedere i requisiti stabiliti dal DM 15.11.2011.
